With the newly approved California Homemade Food Act (AB1616) entrepreneurs may use their home kitchens to launch a small food business. Approved products include breads, jams, cookies, roasted nuts and many more delicious goodies. This step-by-step course provides detailed information about all "ingredients" necessary to launch and operate a fun and profitable home-made food business.
If you have a passion for artisan foods, have an entreprenuerial mindset and are looking for alternative ways to supplement your income, this class is for you! After completing this course, you will know how to conduct a product assessment, develop and finalize a recipe, calculate ingredient and packaging costs, and appropriately price and label homemade food items. The class fee is $99, plus a $25 material fee is payable to the instructor in class for 80 page class packet, including CD.
About the instructor: Caron Ory has been a home baker and cook for more than 20 years. She is the founder of Sapere Natural Foods, where she grew Eco-BeeCo., a product that was originally created in her home kitchen into national distribution. She is also a trained dietitian and registered nurse.
