The Multicultural & Community Engagement Center at Glendale Community College is proud to serve as an official certifying organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA).
The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is issued by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation on behalf of the President of the United States to recognize the best in the American spirit, and to encourage all Americans to improve their communities through volunteer service and civic participation.
Awards are given for varying age groups and based on number of service/volunteer hours completed within a 12-month period.
Award Levels Include:
Kids (5-10 Age Group)
Teens (11-15 Age Group)
Young Adult (16-25 Age Group)
Adult (26 and older)
Family and Groups (includes clubs)
Individuals must complete and turn in an application by the specified deadline and must turn in verifiable documentation along with their application.
All recipients will be acknowledged at the end of the academic year during our end-of-the-year ceremony.

The GCC Service Honor Roll and Volunteer of the Year Award
will begin in the 2016-2017 Academic Year.
GCC Service Honor Roll & Volunteer of the Year Award
The GCC Service Honor Roll is an opportunity to acknowledge all the students who have completed a minimum of 100 hours of service to the community. All applicants who turn in verification of their 100 hours will automatically be included in the honor roll.
Being on the GCC Service Honor Roll automatically qualifies you to apply for the Student Volunteer of the Year Award. You must complete a separate application for this award. Details and information are available at Multicultural & Community Engagement Center in SM267.
The Student Volunteer of the Year will:
1. be invited to the annual GCC Honors and Awards Banquet;
2. receive a certificate signed by the GCC Superintendent/President;
3. receive the MCEC Humanitarian Award Scholarship; and
4. have their name placed on a plaque listing the Volunteers of the Year for each year.
