The GED tests give you the opportunity to earn a high school equivalency diploma.The GED tests are five tests in the areas of Writing, Social Studies, Reading, Science, and Mathematics. The Student Success Center offers GED preparation classes.
You are eligible to take the tests if you are not enrolled in, and have not graduated from high school, and you are 18 or older (or within 60 days of your 18th birthday at the time of testing) and are a current resident of California. Applicants must register in person and present current photo identification (including examinee's name, date of birth, address, and signature) at the time of registration, and again at testing. Tests are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning on the first day of registration, and ending when the test has reached maximum enrollment. A non-refundable testing fee of $150 (cash, certified money order, or cashier's check) is due at the time of registration. If you are retaking a subject test, the test fee is $30 per test.
