Mission Statement
Our women's tennis program is primarily devoted to two things: making sure our players get the classes they need (and direction) to martriculate through Glendale College and on to a four-year school. In Head Coach Bob Donaghy's 25-year stint coaching the GCC Men's Tennis Team from 1978-2002, 109 of his 172 players graduated from four-year schools. As he begins his fourth years as the Head Women's Tennis Coach at Glendale, he expects the Lady Vaqs to improve on the graduation rate.
Secondly our on court program is geared for the player to learn and improve at least 25% each year for your two years at Glendale.
Instruction, drills, practice and matches are all part of the on-court program coupled with a challenging fitness regimen to help improve quickness, balance, speed, strength and stamina. "We don;t send our players out for their matches without all the weapons they need to win.''
In Short: you will graduate from Glendale College, you will graduate from a four-year school and you'll improve your game by 25% a year. Plus--you'll have the time of your life.
