CROSS COUNTRY

    The men and women;s cross country teams compete in the Western State Conference Championships Tuesday at Fairbanks Park in Luis Obispo. The Glendale women have won a record six straight WSC titles 14 since 1980. The men's team has won 11 out of the last 14 titles and 18 since 1980.

    Glendale competes next in the Southern California Championships Friday Nov. 4 at Cucamonga-Gusti Park in Ontario and the state championships is Friday Nov. 18 at Woodward Park in Fresno. 

WOMEN'S GOLF

    The women's golf team finished second in a Western State Conference match last Tuesday hosted by Glendale College at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena. Glendale finished just two shots behind match winner College of the Canyons, 306 to 308, but still maintains it's hold on first place in the WSC standings. Santa Barbara City College was third at 329 followed by Bakersfield with 344 and Citrus was fifth with a 477. 

    Hannah Lee led Glendale with a five-over-par 71. Vicanda Ma and Thanawan Sriatchaya each shot 77 and Pataporn Silawanna shot 78 to pace the Lady Vaqs. 

    Glendale competes in a WSC match Monday Oct. 24 at Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

    Glendale fell to 7-11 overall and 2-3 in WSC play after losing in three games to Bakersfield College last Wednesday, 25-22, 25-11. 25-10. The Lady Vaqs had a bye last Friday. Cami Martin led Glendale with 11 kills in the loss to Bakersfield and with one team and solo block. Laila Souktani added 20 assists and Raquel Valenzuela had 11 digs.  

    Conference play continues for Glendale with games at College of the Canyons Wednesday and at home Friday hosting Santa Monica City College. Both matches start at 7 pm. 

MEN'S SOCCER

    The Vaqueros are now 3-10-2 and 2-5-1 in WSC play after splitting a pair of matches last week, losing to Onard College 7-1 last Tuesday and beating Citrus 3-2 last Friday.

    Glendale hosts Santa Barbara City College Tuesday and Los Angeles Mission College. Both games start at 7 pm and are played at Sartoris Field.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

    Glendale is now 1-13-1 and 0-6-1 in WSC play after falling to Los Angeles Valley College 4-2 last Tuesday.

    The Lady Vaqs play at L.A. Pierce College Tuesday and host College of the Canyons Friday at 7 pm. 

FOOTBALL

    The Vaqueros fell to West Los Angeles college 35-13 to fall to 0-3 in American Division, PAcific Conference play and 0-7 overall. Joe Wiggan rushed for 145 yards and one touchdown and Timothy Broughton added 107 yrads of total offense, 55 on the ground in 13 carries and sanred one pass for 52 yards. Matt Lopez led the Vaqs with nine tackles and recovered a fumble and Osa Aikhionbare added six stops.

    Glendale plays a confernce game Saturday at Santa Barbara City College at 7 pm.
