CROSS COUNTRY

    Glendale's men and women's team competes in the state championship Saturday Nov. 19 at woodward Park in Fresno at 10 a.m.

WOMEN'S GOLF

    The women's golf team captured the first Southern California Regionals title in school history by three strokes over Palomar College in San Marcos. The win for Glendale advances them to the four team state tournament Monday and Tuesday November 14-15 at Kings Country Club in Hanford. 

    Glendale freshman Pattraporn Silawanna took home individual honors by shooting a two-round total of 142, eight strokes ahead of the second place finisher. The Lady Vaqs qualified three individuals from the top-12 that will compete for individual honors at state as Hannah Lee tied for fifth at 150 and Thanawan Sriratchaya was seventh at 153. Vicanda Ma finished 14th with a two-round total of 160.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

    The Lady Vaqs fell to Citrus in four games last Wednesday, 25-13, 25-22, 23-25 and 25-23 and lost in three games at Bakersfield Friday by the scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-22. Their record is 9-15 overall and 4-7 in Western State Conference play.

    Glendale ends the regular season with a bye Tuesday and a home match against College of the Canyons Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Verdugo Gym. 

MEN'S SOCCER

    Glendale dropped a pair of confernces matches last week to finish the season 3-10-1 in WSC play and 4-15-2 overall. They fell to Allan Hancock College 4-0 last Tuesday and 3-2 to Oxnard College Friday.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

    The Lady Vaqs finished the season with a 2-0 home field victory last Friday against L.A. Valley College to end the the year 2-16-1 overall and 1-10-1 in WSC play.

FOOTBALL

    Glendale ended the season with a 56-50 overtime loss to L.A. Southwest College Saturday to finish the season 1-5 in conference play and 1-9 overall. Joe Wiggan rushed for 253 yards on 33 carries and two touchdowns to bring his season totals to 1109 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns, 11 rushing. Timothy Broughton had a combined 158 yards of total offense, 80 receiving and 78 rushed and three touchdowns. Quarterback Kevin Hunter passed for 145 yards on 11 of 19 and three touchdowns. Matt Lopez had eight tackles and Osa Aikhionbare and Alonzo webb had six each to pace the defensive effort. 

MEN'S BASKETBALL

    The men's team won it's own Tip-Off Tournament with a pair of wins Friday, 78-62 over Santa Barbara and 90-82 over Compton College Saturday. Robert Henry led Glendale with 15 points in the win over Compton and Shara Babakhanians had 13 points and seven rebounds and MArquis Brooks had 11 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

    Glendale hosts Los Angeles Pierce College Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Verdugo Gym. 


WOMeN'S BASKETBALL

    The women's basketball team won the consolation championship of the San Diego Mesa Tournament with a 55-42 win Sunday over Butte College. They started the tournament Friday with a 88-53 loss to Cerritos College and then beat San Diego City College 62-42 Saturday.

    The Lady Vaqs host the Vaquero Shootout Friday through Sunday in the Verdugo Gym. Glendale faces L.A. Southwest College Friday at 7 p.m.
