Glendale swept three games last week to improve to 3-2 overall this season. They beat Moorpark 19-3 last Wednesday, beat Los Angeles Harbor College 8-7 Thursday nad closed out the week with a 2-0 win over East Los Angelss College Friday. Chris Stroh's two-run double off the left field fence in the bottom of the eighth inning was the big blow and Cory Popham pitched a three hit shutout to nail down the win. The Vaqs were also aided by a diving catch by rightfielder Cameron Gardner in the ninth inning with runners on bases to preserve the win.
The Vaqueros play at Rio Hondo College Wednesday at 2 pm, host Ventura College at 6 pm Thursday and host Pasadena City College at 11 am Saturday. Both home games are at Stengel Field.
The Lady Vaqs dropped three of four games last week and are npow 8-5 this season. They beat Pasadena City College 8-0 Thursday and fell to San Diego City College 7-1 in the first game of a double header Saturday and then fell to College of the Desert 8-4 in the second game. They also lost to COD 6-5 Sunday. In the win over Pasadena, pitcher Brandy Morin struckout 10 and allowed just three hits to secure the win and Kitty Nguyen had two hist and two RBI and Jena Kaser and Casey Nicodemus also had doubles.
Glendale plays at Antelope Valley College Friday at 2:30 pm.
Glendale is 11-15 and 3-7 in WSC play after beating santa Monica City College 60-49 last Wednesday. The Vaqs had a bye Saturday. Nick Rhodes led Glendale with 16 points in the win and Shara Babakahanians added 10 points and four assists. Marquis Brooks ahd 12 rebounds and eight points and Soreen Derboghosian added 10 rebounds and eight points.
The Vaqueros play at College of the Canyons Wednesday and host Los Angeles Valley College Saturday in their regular season finale. Both games start at 7 pm.
The Lady Vaqs beat Santa Monica City College 65-59 last Wednesday to improve to 6-18 overall and 3-7 in WSC play. They had a bye Saturday. Michelle Eclar led Glendale over Santa Monica with 13 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Lidia Rivas added 12 points and seven boards and Amanda Manahan had 11 points.

Glendale opened up the 2012 WSC season with a fifth place finish at a conference tournament at the Valencia Country Club hosted by College of the Canyons. Match winner COC shot 375 and Glendale tied for fourth with Ventura College at 401 but lost the tie-breaker and finished fifth. Nick Quintanilla shot 76 to lead GCC with Mathias Dahl shooting a 77, Ryan Chotivchitr shotting 81, Michael Timpson had an 83, Clayton Ojeda shot 84 and Richie Maloof shot 88.
The Vaqueros play in a WSC macth Monday hosted by Santa Barbara at Olivas Links.
Glendale is 1-1 this season after dropping a 5-4 decision to Saddleback College last Thursday. Last Tuesday's match agains Irvine Valley College was rained out and re-scheduled for Thursday March 29 and last Friday's home match against Occidental College was postponed until Friday February 17. In the loss to Saddleback, Trevor Campbell won both of his sets at No. 1 singles at 7-6 (7-5) and 6-2 and Mario Ruiz won at No. 6 singles at 7-6 and 6.2. The No. 1 doubles team of Campbell and Grayson Frazier won it's match at 8-3 and the No. 3 team of Rick Ivynian and Eric Khanlarian were victorious at 8-6.
The Vaqueros play at Mt. San Antonio College Thursday at 2 pm and host Occidental College Friday at 3 pm.
The Lady Vaqs match at Riverside Tuesday January 31 was postponed until Thursday February 16 at 2 pm at Riverside. Glendale is 1-2 this season.
