Students interested in elementary or special education should select one of the
Teacher Preparation Options instead of the General Studies Option.
The waiver programs are meant for those students interested in a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. This major is different in the way students prepare for transfer. It is not appropriate for the students to follow any other G.E pattern than the one outlined below. By completing these requirements, students waive taking the National Teachers Exam. In those circumstances, where there is no equivalent math course, the student should take a college level math course in order to be admitted to the university. The requirements for CSU Northridge are available in the Transfer Center. The only University of California campus that offers his major/program is Riverside and the requirements are also available in the Transfer Center. Also see the links to ASSIST on the index page.

Note: This program satisfies CSUN General Education
and Title V requirements. Students intending to
transfer as Liberal Studies majors should NOT follow
a CSU General Education Certification or IGETC plan.

The ITEP-Junior Option is for students who would
like to earn their BA
and credential simultaneously.

Admission to the Credential program requires an overall GPA of 2.75, among other requirements.
