The undergraduate curriculum is broad and general with respect to physics and includes an introduction to theoretical and experimental work in specialized subfields in the senior year. The Bachelor of Science program provides a basic foundation for students who intend to go on to graduate school in physics or related fields such as engineering or other physical sciences. However, for many this is a terminal degree preparatory to working as an engineer or technician in industry. The Bachelor of Arts program in General Physics provides flexibility for students who are interested in fields outside of physics in which a strong background knowledge of physics would be helpful. Below are some examples of the lower division courses required for the major.
