WHAT IS JUMP START?
Jump Start is an early college enrollment program allowing high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to take college classes at Glendale Community College, while still enrolled in high school. (It is important to note that Jump Start classes are not designed to replace high school classes. GCC grants only college credit for Jump Start classes.)
WHO CAN ATTEND?
Any high school junior or senior (who is a California resident) is eligible. We have learned from past semesters that students performing with a "B" or better in high school coursework and whose attendance is in good standing are the most successful in the Jump Start program.
WHEN ARE THE JUMP START CLASSES?
Students are encouraged to enroll in courses offered between 2 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. (Monday through Friday), and Saturday (please refer to the current class schedule for exact times).
WHAT DOES IT COST?
GCC waives the current enrollment fee of $46 per unit and the parking fee for eligible CA residents (The parking fee is waived if the student has a current driver's license). Students will only pay the following fees, plus the cost of the textbooks.
