Book purchases using EOPS Spring 2014 book voucher can be made only during the following dates:

THE FIRST DAY YOU CAN USE YOUR BOOK VOUCHER IS Monday, February 10, 2014.

THE LAST DAY YOU CAN USE YOUR BOOK VOUCHER IS Friday, March 14, 2014.

ALL EXCHANGES OR RETURNS ARE DONE AT THE BOOKSTORE.

ATTENTION

To be able to use EOPS book service you need to present the following required documents to the cashier at the bookstore: 1) Your GCC student picture ID and 2) a printout of your most recent book list for the registered courses.

  • No purchases/rents will be allowed towards use of spring 2014 EOPS book voucher unless all required documents are presented at the time of purchase/rent.
  • You may purchase/rent your books in several trips to the bookstore as long as you have not exhausted the full amount allocated for spring semester. If you make changes to your class schedule (add or drop classes) after your first visit to the bookstore, you need a printout of your updated book list to use your book voucher.
  • All book purchases/rents must be completed by the closing of the bookstore on Friday, March, 2014. Make sure to check the book store hours, available on their website.

NOTE: 

  • EOPS book service is provided to students to support them financially ensuring that students have the educational tools necessary to succeed academically. The amount allocated may not cover all the textbook related expenses. If, however, you have completed purchasing all the required textbooks for your classes, but have not exhausted the full amount allocated for winter, the remainder amount will remain in the EOPS account to be used for book voucher allocation next term. Book Vouchers may be used to purchase/rent only those books that are required for registered courses. The book voucher is non-transferable. In no circumstances, students may use their EOPS book voucher to purchase books for another individual.
  • Potential EOPS Students: Receiving a book voucher is not guaranteed by the program. It is contingent upon student eligibility and available funds. It is highly recommended that while in the admission process, students purchase/rent their books and keep their receipts. If you get a book voucher award the first semester you can get reimbursed up to the maximum amount of the book voucher award. All exchanges or returns are done at the bookstore.

    NOTE: Glendale Community College Bookstore is now offering affordable textbook options for many classes with their new Rent-a-Text program. Many books are now eligible for renting at prices up to 50% and more off of the new price of a book. EOPS students can use their vouchers to rent books, however, to participate in the program, each student must be 18 years of age; have a valid Driver’s License/State ID, email address and credit card.     ATTENTION: Before renting any books, please read Q&A section regarding the rental option: BOOKSTORE RENTAL FAQ. All fees associated with the book rental program are the student’s responsibility.

    NOTE: EOPS will not take any responsibility for not returned, late returned, lost or stolen books.

    EOPS Book Voucher Eligibility Criteria 
    EOPS offers a book service to eligible students based on student's program and financial eligibility determined by the EOPS and Financial Aid offices. This service is offered in Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer terms.  Continuing students must be in compliance with the EOPS Mutual Responsibility Contract. In order to be eligible for the book service as a continuing student, you must also meet the following criteria:

    Continuing EOPS Students
    • Must have FAFSA completed and  processed by Financial Aid Office
    • BOGW (Board of Governors Waiver A or B)
    • Must have financial need as determined by Financial Aid Office
    • 12 units successfully completed in the previous semester
    • Overall GPA of 2.00 or higher
    • No more than 70 degree applicable units or 6 consecutive semesters with EOPS
    • Three counseling contacts each semester- Fall and Spring
    • One counseling contact each intersession-Winter and Summer (if registered)
    • Preliminary SEP and Mutual Responsibility Contract on file
    • Completed SD 100 (1 unit) within three terms of acceptance

    EOPS and CARE financial assistance may be available to EOPS/CARE students who in addition to meeting all EOPS /CARE program eligibility requirements are financially eligible to receive these services. The determination is based on individual student’s financial aid award and the remaining financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Students must have completed all financial aid forms and requirements and have received their Financial Aid Award Notification for remaining need to be determined. CARE students must meet additional CARE program eligibility requirements to qualify for CARE financial support. All EOPS and CARE awards are contingent upon EOPS/CARE Program funding availability.
