Group Study Rooms
Policies for Study Room Use
Study rooms are available on a first come, first served basis and are intended for student group study only. They may be checked out at the Circulation Desk by at least 2 students representing a study group.
Rules for group study room use:
- Student groups only.
- A group is:
- 2-4 people in the 3rd floor rooms.
- 5-8 people in the 4th floor rooms.
- No advance reservations; rooms must be checked out at the Circulation Desk .
- Study rooms cannot be reserved in advance.
- Availability is first come, first served.
- The room must be checked out from the Circulation Desk and cannot be renewed or reserved in advance.
- Only currently registered students with required ID are eligible to check out a room.
- There is a $5 fee for losing the laminated check out card, which must be displayed on the suction cup hook in the room's window.
- Maximum room use is 3 consecutive hours.
- There is a fine of $3 per hour (or any part of an hour) for late return of the laminated check out card.
- Priority is given to students who are studying.
- Lights must remain on at all times.
- Chairs may not be moved in or out of the study rooms.
- Talk quietly as rooms are not sound-proof.
- Study room and library policies must be followed at all times.
- No food or drink is allowed (closed water containers excepted).
- Students alone in study rooms may be asked to leave.
- Large student groups (5-8 students) have priority for the large study rooms on the 4th floor.
